The launch of GTA 6 is already having a tangible impact on the real world — and it’s still five months away. A vehicle performance company based in Southern California has announced it will temporarily pause operations on November 19, 2026, the game’s release date, so its employees can play Rockstar’s highly anticipated open-world epic.

A “Company-Wide Operational Pause”
Burger Motorsports, a performance tuning company in Simi Valley, California, posted a memo on Instagram on June 11, stating it would observe a “company-wide operational pause” on the day of GTA VI‘s launch. The company said it reviewed multiple employee scheduling conflicts and determined that normal business operations — including customer support, social media, shipping, and processing — would be disrupted.
The memo reads, in part: “Several team members have already notified management that they will be unavailable, unreachable, and/or ‘in Vice City’ for the duration of the day.”
Normal operations are expected to resume once employees have “completed their initial exploration, finished at least one mission, and returned to reality.” The company ended the statement by calling the release an “unprecedented cultural event.”
A Sign of Things to Come
The move has been met with widespread support from the gaming community, with many fans applauding the company’s understanding of its employees’ enthusiasm. It also highlights just how massive GTA VI is expected to be — a game so culturally significant that even businesses are planning around it.
This isn’t the first time a company has shut down for a major game release, but the scale of GTA 6 — with a development budget reportedly exceeding $2 billion and over a decade of anticipation — makes it a truly historic event.
Pre-Orders and Pricing
The news comes just days after Rockstar confirmed that pre-orders for GTA VI will open on June 25, 2026 on digital storefronts and at select retailers. The official cover art was also revealed, featuring protagonists Jason and Lucia in the signature GTA collage style.
While pricing has not yet been confirmed, fans are expecting a standard edition price of around $70–$80, with potential deluxe and collector’s editions costing more. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has repeatedly reaffirmed the November 19 release date, stating the company feels “really good” about the launch.

A Third Delay?
Despite the excitement, some fans remain cautious. The release date was temporarily removed from the official GTA VI website earlier this week, sparking fears of a third delay. However, the date remains visible on the “Only in Leonida” tab, and Rockstar has not indicated any changes to the schedule. The confirmation of pre-orders suggests the game is firmly on track.
For now, fans can mark their calendars: June 25 for pre-orders, November 19 for Vice City. And if you’re a customer of Burger Motorsports, you might want to call ahead — the staff will be busy exploring a different kind of open road.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
