It’s been just over a month since Palworld exited Early Access with its massive 1.0 launch, bringing over 70 new Pals and the long-awaited World Tree to the game. Now, developer Pocketpair is already looking ahead to the next major milestone: Version 1.1.
Official Tease Confirms Development Has Begun
An official post from the Palworld Twitter account revealed a photo of a meeting room display inside Pocketpair’s offices, which read ” v1.1 Brainstorming Session”. The image, dated August 13, 2026, confirms that the team has already begun discussing ideas and features for the game’s first major post-launch update.
While the teaser didn’t provide any specific details about what Version 1.1 will include, it marks an important milestone: Pocketpair is fully committed to supporting Palworld well beyond its 1.0 release.
Managing Expectations: No “Massive” 1.1 Update
However, fans hoping for a content explosion on the scale of 1.0 may need to temper their expectations. Publishing lead John “Bucky” Buckley took to social media to clarify the studio’s direction after a flood of community suggestions.
“Shot myself in the foot here, 1.7k comments later. Things like ‘add a new continent’, ‘add 20 more levels’ and similarly massive undertakings are not really what we want to do with v1.1. Open to ideas but, we’re not planning to spend a year making a massive update for 1.1.” — John “Bucky” Buckley
Instead, Pocketpair plans to focus Version 1.1 on quality-of-life adjustments and feature refinements. Think along the lines of recent patches that made building bases over water easier and allowed players to earn World Tree Holy Water through expeditions rather than farming. Major content expansions like new continents and significant level cap increases are being reserved for future milestones, such as a potential Version 2.0 release.
What Fans Are Asking For
The community has already begun pitching ideas for Version 1.1. Popular suggestions include:
- Expanding base building – Allowing players to adjust the radius of bases created by placing a Palbox, enabling larger bases and full villages.
