RTX 5080 No Longer Listed on NVIDIA’s Official Store
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5080 has reportedly disappeared from the company’s US Marketplace. The change was spotted by Redditors, who noticed that the 16GB graphics card was no longer among the available GPU filters. This follows a similar removal of the RTX 5090 earlier this month.

We reported on October 16 that the RTX 5090 had disappeared from NVIDIA’s Marketplace. However, the card eventually returned, with one model listed at $5,599—nearly 2.8 times its original $1,999 MSRP. Shortly after, the listing was removed again.
A 24GB Replacement on the Horizon
The RTX 5080 change comes on the same day as our report that NVIDIA is reportedly preparing to replace the 16GB model with a 24GB version. According to supply chain sources, NVIDIA has already cleared its remaining RTX 5080 16GB GPU inventory, with existing stock expected to support sales for approximately two more months. The 24GB model could arrive between December 2026 and January 2027.
The timing also follows our recent investigation into RTX 5080 retail prices. On October 28, we found that the cheapest verified offers at major US retailers started at $1,979.99—almost twice NVIDIA’s $999 MSRP. The lowest confirmed online purchase option was $1,999.99 at Best Buy.
A Pattern of Disappearing High-End Cards
NVIDIA has previously denied that the RTX 5090 has been discontinued, despite reports from board partners that new GB202 GPU and memory packages are unavailable to order. NVIDIA hasn’t made any effort to explain when—or for how much—the RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 will return. Unfortunately, RTX 50 pricing is not skewed only for high-end models; all RTX 50 cards are now listed above MSRP.
Some media outlets have noted that removing a graphics card from NVIDIA’s US Marketplace does not necessarily mean it has been discontinued. It may simply indicate that neither NVIDIA nor its participating retailers have stock available through the platform. However, that is precisely the issue. The RTX 5080 is not only unavailable at its official $999 MSRP—which NVIDIA continues to advertise on its product page—but is now missing from the Marketplace entirely. While this does not confirm that production has ended, it shows that NVIDIA’s official sales channel currently has no RTX 5080 cards available, regardless of price.

What This Means for Buyers
For gamers and PC builders, the message is increasingly clear: high-end GeForce cards are becoming harder to find through official channels, and prices are showing no signs of returning to sanity. The reported 24GB RTX 5080 may eventually arrive, but it is unlikely to be cheap given the current memory cost environment. If you’re in the market for a high-end GPU, waiting for prices to fall may not be a winning strategy.
NVIDIA has not commented on the Marketplace removals or the rumored 24GB model. As always, treat pre-release information with caution until an official announcement is made.
