Ubisoft has announced a surprise new project, and it’s not a video game. Assassin Creed: Echoes of the Past is a live acrobatic stage show that will premiere in Montreal this December before heading to Paris. It’s a bold departure for the franchise – and fans are already intrigued.

Parkour Meets Theatre
The show is produced by The 7 Fingers, a renowned contemporary circus company, and directed by Sébastien Soldevila. It will feature 17 highly acrobatic performers blending “urban parkour” and “choreographed combat” – a natural fit for a series built on rooftop leaps and hidden blade assassinations. The two‑hour performance promises to take audiences on a journey through time, echoing the Animus‑hopping structure of the games.
A Familiar Story
The narrative follows a young man searching for his father, who disappeared years ago. On his 25th birthday, a mysterious letter leads him to the HEREDIS program, setting off a quest across centuries. Long‑time fans will recognize echoes of Desmond Miles’ strained relationship with his father, William. Ubisoft has designed the show to be enjoyable even for those with no prior experience with the series, so newcomers can also appreciate the acrobatics and story.
Where and When
- Montreal, Canada: Théâtre Maisonneuve – December 3, 2026
- Paris, France: Casino de Paris – January 21, 2027

A Growing Trend
Ubisoft is not the first game publisher to expand into live performance. Final Fantasy has had orchestral concerts, The Witcher has a stage adaptation in the works, and Cyberpunk 2077 has held immersive events. But a full‑scale acrobatic show based on parkour and combat is uniquely suited to Assassin Creed. It’s a gamble, but one that could pay off in spectacle.
For now, fans of Edward Kenway can look forward to the Assassin Creed Black Flag Resynced remake on July 9, 2026. But those who prefer their assassinations on a stage should mark their calendars for December.
