AMD’s Radeon RX 9050 Surfaces: Full Navi 44 Core, But Clocks Are Drastically Cut
AMD is preparing another addition to its Radeon RX 9000 desktop graphics card lineup. According to information obtained by VideoCardz, the company is working on a Radeon RX 9050 – a lower‑clocked Navi 44 model that will sit below the already‑announced Radeon RX 9060 series.

The RX 9050 is not using a cut‑down core configuration. Instead, the card is listed with Navi 44 and 2,048 Stream Processors, matching the full Navi 44 XT configuration used by the Radeon RX 9060 XT. That is higher than the 1,792‑core Navi 44 XL design found in the non‑XT Radeon RX 9060.
Big Clock Reduction, Same Core Count
Where AMD differentiates the RX 9050 is in clock speeds. The card is listed with a 1,920 MHz game clock and a 2,600 MHz boost clock. For comparison, the Radeon RX 9060 XT reference specifications show up to 2,530 MHz game clock and up to 3,130 MHz boost clock.
That puts the RX 9050 610 MHz lower in game clock (a reduction of about 24%) and 530 MHz lower in boost clock (about 17%). The core count remains the same, but the much lower frequencies will significantly impact performance – positioning the card well below the RX 9060 XT.
Memory and Bandwidth
The RX 9050 is listed with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128‑bit bus. Memory bandwidth is shown as 288 GB/s, matching the non‑XT Radeon RX 9060 rather than the RX 9060 XT’s 320 GB/s. PCIe specifications are expected to be PCIe 5.0 x16, matching the rest of the Navi 44 lineup.
Power and Positioning
Exact board power (TBP) is not yet known, but the recommended power supply is listed at 450W. For context, the Radeon RX 9060 XT has a 500W recommended PSU, so the RX 9050 appears to target a lower power class – likely in the 120‑140W range.
The card would become AMD’s most affordable RDNA 4 desktop offering, competing against NVIDIA’s rumored RTX 5050 series and older generation budget cards. With 8GB VRAM and modest clocks, it is aimed at 1080p gaming at medium to high settings.

Caveats
The specifications are preliminary and single‑sourced at this stage. AMD has not confirmed the Radeon RX 9050, and final clocks, power, and release date could change. If launched, it would likely arrive in the second half of 2026 as a true entry‑level option for budget PC builders.
