GTA 6 Gameplay Leak Reveals Rockstar’s ‘Most Massive And Insane Map Ever’

GTA 6 is now available to pre-order from storefronts across the globe – and a series of Brazilian retailers have seemingly leaked additional gameplay details.

GTA 6 Gameplay Leak Reveals Rockstar's 'Most Massive And Insane Map Ever'

Excitingly, the leaked details give us some indication as to what we should expect from GTA 6’s map – an aspect of the game that’s drawn rife speculation.

A Map Like No Other

On Amazon in Brazil, it’s teased that GTA 6 will have a “larger map”.

“Explore Vice City, beaches, swamps, small towns, and various regions of Leonida.” – Amazon Brazil listing

Brazilian retailer Kabum has taken things one step further, reporting that fans should expect “the most massive, dense, and insane map ever created by Rockstar Games.”

“Traverse the neon-lit streets of a pulsating Vice City, dominate dangerous swamps, crowded beaches, and realistic suburbs that cover the state of Leonida from end to end. Every inch of the scenery has been designed to deliver brutal immersion and total freedom.” – Kabum listing

To date, it’s been GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 vying for the top spot of Rockstar Games’ biggest map. GTA V is technically slightly bigger in scale, but Red Dead Redemption 2 has often been considered as Rockstar’s biggest game due to the map’s denser level of content. Either way, it sounds as if GTA 6 will blow them both out of the water.

More Leaked Gameplay Details

Elsewhere in the newly released gameplay details, it’s specified that players will be able to freely switch between playing as Jason and Lucia while participating in story missions as a duo.

NPCs are said to have their own routines, plus there are reportedly “random events” and “interactive establishments” which all sound plausible enough.

GTA VI supposedly features its own in-game social media networks where players can “watch viral videos, follow influencers, and discover world events.”

Kabum’s listing expands on that, adding:

“The major innovation lies in the in-game integration of social networks: your character’s cell phone consumes viral videos in real time, allowing you to follow Vice City influencers and discover secret side missions through social media.”

Additional Features Mentioned

  • Dynamic weather system affecting gameplay and physics
  • Advanced AI with NPCs having unique daily routines
  • Real-time protagonist switching between Jason and Lucia
  • Interactive establishments with deeper exploration options
  • Ray-traced graphics with enhanced lighting and reflections

A Word of Caution

You do, however, need to take this information with a pinch of salt as there’s no confirmation on exactly where Brazilian retailers have got it from. It doesn’t feel as if it would be Rockstar Games’ exact wording, but it could plausibly be a translation of materials provided to the Portuguese-speaking market.

The Pre-Order Controversies

Despite all of the hype surrounding GTA VI, it’s drawn quite a lot of controversy in recent days.

No Disc in Physical Copies

The game’s physical copies won’t include a disc, instead opting for a code in a box – at least at launch anyway. It basically renders physical copies pointless unless you just seek to display the box on your shelf; you won’t actually own the game, which is bad for long-term preservation.

Several major US retailers have even boycotted selling the game because of this.

Ultimate Edition Content Lock

GTA VI‘s Ultimate Edition also hasn’t gone down too well, locking exclusive story content, missions, and stores behind its higher price point. The Standard Edition will retail for £69.99 / $79.99, with the Ultimate Edition setting you back £89.99 / $99.99.

Pre-Order Bonuses

All of those who do pre-order GTA VI will secure exclusive pre-order DLC and also unlock the ability to pre-load the game from 12 November – and that applies to both physical and digital copies.

Rockstar’s next best move would be to drop that trailer, distracting us from all of the problems plaguing this pre-order rollout.

The Bigger Picture

Despite the controversies, the leaked map details have reignited excitement. If the Brazilian retailer descriptions are accurate, GTA VI will offer:

  • The largest and most detailed map in Rockstar’s history
  • Unprecedented density with swamps, beaches, suburbs, and neon-lit cities
  • Seamless exploration across the entire state of Leonida
  • Interactive open-world events and random encounters
  • In-game social media integration for discovering secrets

Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026.
