The wait for GTA 6 pre-orders may finally have an end date – at least according to a leaked email from US retailer Best Buy. The message, sent to affiliate partners, indicates that pre-orders for the physical version of the game will be available between May 18 and May 21, with a 5% commission for affiliates sharing purchase links.

GTA 6 Concrete Window, But Not Set in Stone
The email, shared by YouTuber Frogboyx1Gaming and verified by multiple online users, suggests that Best Buy expects the pre-order period to begin on Monday, May 18. However, that doesn’t rule out an earlier drop. Rockstar may choose to open pre-orders directly through the PlayStation Store or Xbox Marketplace without involving retail affiliates immediately. In fact, the absence of a Best Buy commission window before the 18th could simply mean that early digital pre-orders are handled directly by Rockstar and Sony.
Still, the Best Buy leak is the most specific date we’ve seen. It aligns with the broader industry expectation that pre-orders would go live this month, ahead of Take-Two Interactive’s earnings call on May 21.
Rockstar’s Suspicious Silence Today
Adding fuel to the fire, Rockstar Games skipped its usual posting slot on the Chinese social media platform BiliBili today. Historically, the studio posts on BiliBili several hours before making the same announcement on Twitter/X. The fact that nothing appeared this morning has led fans to believe that something bigger is being prepared – possibly a trailer and pre‑order announcement.
Thursday has been a favored day for Rockstar announcements in the past. Combined with the Best Buy email and the empty PlayStation Store deals page, the stars seem to be aligning for a reveal as early as today.
What to Expect
When the trailer drops, it will almost certainly be accompanied by immediate pre‑order availability on digital storefronts. Pricing (expected to be $69.99 / £69.99 for the standard edition), edition details, and a final confirmation of the November 19 release date should follow. Physical pre‑orders at retailers like Best Buy, GameStop, and Amazon would then open within the window the email suggests.
