Intel Quietly Raises Recommended Prices for Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus CPUs
Intel has silently increased the official recommended pricing for its Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop processors. The change was first spotted by hardware leaker harukaze5719, who noticed that Intel’s official ARK product pages now list higher Recommended Customer Price (RCP) ranges for both unlocked Arrow Lake Refresh models.

The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is now listed at $339 to $349 on Intel ARK, while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus now carries a $219 to $229 recommended price tag. This represents a significant jump from Intel’s March launch announcement, which positioned these CPUs with suggested prices starting at $299 and $199, respectively.
The adjustment also affects the Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus (the version without integrated graphics), which has moved from $184 to a new range of $204 to $214.
Price Comparison: Before and After
| Model | Launch Price (March 2026) | New RCP (July 2026) | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core Ultra 7 270K Plus | $299 | $339–$349 | Up to $50 |
| Core Ultra 5 250K Plus | $199 | $219–$229 | Up to $30 |
| Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus | $184 | $204–$214 | Up to $30 |
Why the Sudden Increase?
Intel has not officially commented on the reasoning behind the price adjustment. However, the move comes at a time when the broader semiconductor industry continues to face supply chain pressures and rising component costs. The price hike also follows a pattern where Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh CPUs initially sold above MSRP at launch before seeing limited discounts.
Retail Impact: Amazon Prices Still Below New Ranges
Despite the official price increase, retail pricing has not fully caught up yet. Amazon US listings still show the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus at around $319.99 and the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus at $219.99—below the new upper range. Notably, just last week, Amazon offered a Prime Day deal on the 270K Plus for as low as $265.
The Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is less affected in retail terms. Amazon has kept this model at $219.99 since launch, so the new Intel range now appears to match the price Amazon was already using. The official change may therefore reflect existing retail behavior rather than an immediate price hike for every store.

What This Means for Buyers
For consumers, the price adjustment represents a quiet erosion of value for Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh lineup. The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, which launched with strong price-to-performance appeal, is now officially positioned at a higher tier. However, with Amazon and other retailers still offering competitive pricing, savvy shoppers may still find deals below the new recommended range.
As always, it pays to shop around—and to check current retail prices before assuming the new RCP reflects actual street prices.
