GTA 6 Release Date Leak Was Just a Misunderstanding

Earlier this week, an online leak suggested that GTA 6 would launch in autumn 2025, aligning with previous expectations. However, fans’ hopes were quickly shattered when the retailer responsible for the rumor issued a clarification.

X Uruguay, the store that initially posted the date, released an official statement explaining the mix-up:

“Like all fans, we are super excited and expectant for the release of GTA VI […] It was not our intention to cause confusion, and we want to clarify that we did not receive any official information from any of the brands regarding the game’s release date.”

It turns out the supposed release date was actually a reference to GTA V’s launch, not GTA VI.

“A new guy told us the release date of GTA was already on Google (it was that of GTA V), and we told him, ‘OK, then put it.’ It was more of an inside joke that escalated.”

More Frustration for GTA 6 Fans

This fake release date leak comes at a time when fans are already frustrated over recent claims that GTA VI may not reach 60FPS on PS5, as suggested by a former Rockstar Games developer.

Many players have sky-high expectations for GTA VI, some of which may be difficult for Rockstar to meet. Given the rumored premium price tag and the promised level of detail, some fans argue that 60FPS should be the standard.

One Thing is Certain: GTA 6 Will Be Historic

Despite the misinformation and setbacks, one thing remains true—GTA VI is shaping up to be one of the most significant games in history. While the official release date remains a mystery, anticipation continues to grow for what is expected to be Rockstar’s most ambitious title yet.
