Sucker Punch Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, a definitive version of the acclaimed open-world action-adventure that arrives just in time for the game’s first anniversary.
Launching on October 1, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5, the Complete Edition bundles the base game with two major new additions: a narrative expansion titled Echoes of Sekigahara and a roguelike survival mode called Most Wanted.
Echoes of Sekigahara: A Dual-Timeline Story Expansion
The headline addition is Echoes of Sekigahara, a substantial story expansion that weaves together two timelines.
In the present day, protagonist Atsu reunites with Nagato, a figure from her past who has arrived in Ezo. Together, they explore a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and his gang of loyal followers, the Vipers.
In flashbacks, players experience Atsu’s time during the historic Battle of Sekigahara and a pivotal moment in her life before she returned home to seek vengeance.
The expansion introduces new enemy types, heavy weapons, armor sets, cosmetic dyes, and new Trophies.
Most Wanted: A Roguelike Survival Mode
Most Wanted is described as Sucker Punch’s “spin on a roguelike.” This single-player combat survival mode challenges players to accept bounties and embark on runs where taking down enemies earns perks and unlocks additional playable characters.
Each character specialises in different weapons, with early reveals showing Atsu mastering the dual katana, Oyuki excelling with the kusarigama, and Nagato wielding a yari. Sucker Punch has promised more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Pricing and Upgrade Options
For newcomers, the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is priced at $69.99 and includes:
- The award-winning base game
- Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion
- Most Wanted roguelike survival mode
- Ghost of Yōtei Legends online co-op mode (up to four players)
- All Digital Deluxe Edition content
- The Charm of Hokkyokusei
Players who already own Ghost of Yōtei can access both new modes through the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99 (approximately £11.99 in the UK). This is a more affordable option than the $19.99 story expansion for Ghost of Tsushima — a welcome surprise for existing fans.
Purchasing either the Complete Edition or the DLC upgrade by September 30 unlocks the Sakai Armor for Atsu on October 1 — a throwback to Jin Sakai’s iconic armor from Ghost of Tsushima.
Free Updates for All Players
Even without purchasing the new content, all Ghost of Yōtei owners will receive a free patch on October 1 that adds the Beauty of Yōtei mode — a screensaver-like feature that displays the stunning environments of Ezo for relaxation and photo mode captures.
The patch also introduces quality-of-life improvements, including the ability to keep an armour set’s appearance while using another set’s stats, as well as new high-contrast accessibility options.
