AMD Reportedly Prepares Ryzen 5 7500: A New 6-Core Zen 4 Option for AM5
AMD is reportedly preparing to expand its AM5 processor lineup with a new addition: the Ryzen 5 7500. According to a leak from well-known hardware leaker Roland Quandt of WinFuture, the company is working on a 6-core, 12-thread Zen 4 processor that will sit between the existing Ryzen 5 7500F and the Ryzen 5 7600.
The key differentiator for this new SKU appears to be its integrated graphics. Unlike the 7500F, which lacks an iGPU and requires a discrete graphics card, the Ryzen 5 7500 is expected to come with a basic Radeon Graphics solution.
Specifications: Familiar Performance, New Feature
According to the leak, the Ryzen 5 7500 will feature:
- 6 cores and 12 threads based on the Zen 4 architecture
- A 3.7 GHz base clock and a boost frequency of up to 5.0 GHz
- 38 MB of total cache (32 MB L3 + 6 MB L2)
- A 65W TDP
In terms of CPU performance, these specifications are nearly identical to the R5 7500F, which shares the same core count, clock speeds, and cache configuration. The main difference is the inclusion of integrated Radeon Graphics, which would bring the Ryzen 5 7500 in line with other standard Raphael processors like the Ryzen 5 7600.
The iGPU is expected to be a small RDNA 2 solution with up to two Compute Units, making it suitable for basic display output, media playback, and troubleshooting, but not for gaming.
Pricing and Positioning: A Question of Value
The most contentious aspect of the leak is the rumored price. Quandt suggests the Ryzen 5 7500 will be priced at around €230.
This pricing raises eyebrows for several reasons. In the current European market, the Ryzen 5 7500F can be found for roughly €105, while the faster Ryzen 5 7600 (which also features integrated graphics) starts at about €155. This means the Ryzen 5 7500 would be significantly more expensive than both the 7500F and the 7600, despite offering performance similar to the former and being slower than the latter.
The higher price could be justified if the Ryzen 5 7500 is sold as a boxed retail unit, which would include a cooler. The 7500F is often sold as an OEM/tray processor without a cooler. However, a €230 price tag would still place it uncomfortably close to the Ryzen 5 7500X3D, which currently retails for around $285.

If the leak proves accurate, the Ryzen 5 7500 would offer a budget-friendly entry point into the AM5 platform for users who need integrated graphics for a basic office PC or a temporary solution before adding a discrete GPU. However, the rumored price makes its value proposition questionable, especially when compared to the more powerful Ryzen 5 7600.
