It looks like GTA VI will include two very important features at launch, something that never appeared in the original launch of GTA V.

One of the best features introduced in the ninth console generation is giving players the choice of performance and fidelity modes. This allows players to favour either an increased/smoother framerate or lower its performance in favour of a higher resolution.
When GTA V was first launched in 2013, it never featured such modes because, simply put, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles were never capable. Providing the choice of performance and fidelity was not even available in the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
However, performance and fidelity modes did make their debut in GTA V when the most recent version of the game launched in 2022 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Well, thanks to launching on ninth-generation consoles, it appears that GTA 6 will arrive with the two aforementioned modes.
Will You Choose GTA VI Graphics or Performance?
As brought to our attention by multiple outlets, Polish retailer Media Markt claims in an FAQ that GTA VI will have performance and fidelity modes.
“GTA 6 on next-generation consoles offers two graphics modes to choose from (Performance and Quality), support for DualSense controller features on PS5, providing realistic haptic feedback vibrations, and extremely fast loading screens thanks to the power of SSD storage,” claims an FAQ.
Of course, we should take this information with a pinch of salt until Rockstar Games confirms otherwise. That being said, it’s probably safe to assume that these two modes will launch with GTA VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as it’s pretty standard across the board.
Could Another Mode Feature in GTA VI?
Quite possibly. GTA V on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S not only featured performance and fidelity modes, but also a third mode: Performance RT.
- Fidelity mode targeted 30 frames per second in 4K resolution, improved shadow effects, and ray tracing.
- Performance mode targeted 60fps with a reduced resolution.
- Performance RT mode targeted 60fps with ray-tracing but at a lower resolution – a balance between the other two modes.
With a bit of luck, this third option will be available once more in GTA VI. We’ll have our fingers crossed.
The 60fps Question
While the leak is promising, some experts remain sceptical about whether GTA VI can achieve a stable 60fps, even on the more powerful PS5 Pro. Digital Foundry has analysed the available trailers and concluded that the game renders at 30fps with heavy ray-traced global illumination, making a 60fps target “unrealistic” on current hardware.
A more realistic compromise could be a 40fps mode for high-refresh-rate screens.

The Bottom Line
The Media Markt leak – which has since been removed from the retailer’s site – suggests GTA VI will offer the graphics options modern console players have come to expect. But until Rockstar makes an official announcement, treat this as a strong rumour rather than a confirmed feature.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC port hasn’t been announced yet.
