The Witcher 3 DLC Window Teased, We’re So Back
A decade after its initial release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be poised for a surprising return. According to a new financial analyst report, developer CD Projekt Red could be preparing a brand-new paid expansion for the beloved RPG, tentatively slated for release in May 2026.

The report originates from Polish financial outlet Strefa Inwestorów, citing analysis from Mateusz Chrzanowski of Noble Securities. It forecasts the release of a new paid addition to The Witcher 3 next year, with an estimated sale of 11 million copies at a $30 price point. The analyst also speculates a production budget of roughly 52 million PLN (approximately $13 million USD).
While the exact scope and nature of this DLC remain unconfirmed, its classification as a paid expansion suggests it could be a substantial addition, potentially on the scale of the game’s acclaimed expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. The latter added an entirely new region and dozens of hours of content, setting a high bar for what a new story could deliver.
The timing and existence of this DLC hold greater significance for the franchise’s future. The analyst suggests the release would “start the proper marketing campaign of The Witcher 4,” indicating the new content may serve as narrative connective tissue between the existing saga and the next game. Speculation among fans points to the DLC potentially focusing on Ciri or other characters to set the stage for the new trilogy announced under the codename Polaris.
Further bolstering this roadmap, the same report predicts The Witcher 4 will launch in the fourth quarter of 2027. This aligns with CD Projekt Red’s previous statements targeting a PS5 release for the title before the end of the current console generation.

It is crucial to note that these details come from an analyst report, not an official announcement from CD Projekt Red. For now, the report offers a compelling glimpse into a potential future where Geralt’s world expands once more, forging a path to the next great adventure.
