The third trailer for GTA 6 is yet to arrive, but the so-called trailer “2.5” has landed and has been dubbed as “awesome” by the community. While fans continue to wait for Rockstar Games to offer a better look at gameplay and what the next iteration of GTA Online might look like, one dedicated fan has taken matters into their own hands.
What Is Trailer 2.5?
Created by Reddit user RichardJohnMagic (also known as JeremyJJ77), the fan-made trailer stitches together footage from the two official trailers released by Rockstar. The nearly three-minute video rearranges existing clips into a chronological narrative that focuses heavily on the game’s story and protagonists, Jason and Lucia.
“I combined all the GTA 6 website clips and cover reveal music into a new teaser,” the creator explained in a Reddit post.
While the edit contains no new footage, the chronological reordering creates a fresh perspective on the material Rockstar has already released. The fan editor appears to have attempted to arrange the existing snippets into a logical sequence that aligns with the game’s official synopsis.
Community Reaction: ‘Awesome’
The response from the GTA community has been overwhelmingly positive. On Reddit, the post garnered hundreds of upvotes and numerous positive comments.

When Is Trailer 3?
The fan creation comes as the community grows increasingly restless waiting for an official third trailer. Rockstar released the first GTA VI trailer in December 2023, which has since amassed over 287 million views. The second trailer arrived in May 2025, with more than 175 million views to date.
There was a 17-month gap between the first and second trailers. As of now, it has been 14 months since the last official trailer, with only four months remaining until the game’s scheduled release.
For comparison, Rockstar’s last major release, Red Dead Redemption 2, received four trailers in total, with a five-month gap between its third trailer and launch. Given that GTA VI is now just four months away, many fans believe Trailer 3 should arrive any day.

Yet despite these issues, fan enthusiasm remains high. The creation of “Trailer 2.5” is a testament to the community’s dedication and creativity while waiting for official news.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC port has not yet been announced.
