Rockstar Games just dropped the second GTA 6 trailer, and while it gave us plenty of story details and world teases, one small but crucial detail has PlayStation 5 owners especially excited.
At the end of the trailer, Rockstar confirmed that every frame was captured on a PlayStation 5—not a high-end PC or even the rumored PS5 Pro. This means what you saw is exactly how the game will look on a base PS5 when it launches in May 2026.

Why This Is a Big Deal
For PS5 owners, this is a major reassurance. The trailer’s stunning visuals—from the neon glow of Vice City to the realistic water effects—were all running on standard PlayStation 5 hardware. This suggests:
- Optimized performance – Rockstar is squeezing every bit of power from the console
- No downgrades expected – The final game should look this good (or better)
- A glimpse at next-gen fidelity – This could be one of the best-looking PS5 games ever
Fans on social media were quick to react:
“That’s insane because it looked so realistic. Gonna be amazing.” — Sunderwire (Twitter)
“Was kind of worried that Base PS5 would struggle, but my worries are gone.” — EpiscopalFrog (Twitter)
What About GTA 6 Xbox and PC?
While Rockstar didn’t showcase Xbox Series X|S footage, the game will likely look just as impressive on Microsoft’s consoles. However, this PS5-exclusive confirmation gives Sony fans an extra reason to celebrate.
As for PC players? They’ll likely have to wait longer—but when the game eventually arrives, it could look even better with higher frame rates and ray tracing.
