Recent waves of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leaks have revealed a host of new details, from vehicle fuel mechanics to a six-star wanted system. However, one particularly stylish feature appears to have flown under the radar: the return of a cinematic kill-cam.

A Cinematic Staple Returns
The mechanic, brilliantly implemented in 2012’s Max Payne 3 and later featured in a variation in 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2, seems to be making its GTA debut. This marks the first time such a feature has appeared in the Grand Theft Auto series.
In the leaked footage, a Red Dead Redemption 2-style kill-cam is triggered during combat, giving kills a cinematic, slow-motion flourish. The clip also reveals slow-motion combat maneuvers, further hinting at a more action-packed and stylized combat system.
What Is the Max Payne 3 Kill-Cam?
Unlike the Call of Duty kill-cam, which shows the opposing player’s perspective after you’re eliminated, Max Payne 3‘s kill-cam is far more cinematic. Inspired by the iconic “Bullet Time” mechanic, Max Payne 3 triggers a dramatic slow-motion sequence when you eliminate the final enemy in an encounter. The camera dynamically follows the action, showcasing the final shot from a variety of stylish angles.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, this feature was inserted dynamically into firefights. Interestingly, the kill-cam’s presentation could even vary based on the player’s honor level.
GTA 6 Leaks and Official Reveals
The leaks, attributed to a group calling itself “CyberLeek,” have been spreading rapidly across social media, with Rockstar issuing widespread takedown notices. The footage appears to be from a 2025 or later build of the game.
