The release of Grand Theft Auto VI can’t come soon enough, with gamers counting down the days until November 19. Coming sooner though is an “Extended Preview” being shown through Netflix, which is believed to be around 20 minutes of raw gameplay.

Even with the end in sight, however, the GTA VI leaks just keep on coming, with HipHopGamer claiming to have insider knowledge on what to expect from Rockstar’s next open-world. The YouTuber and TV host recently spoke on the Brands in Play podcast and teased some major upgrades to GTA VI compared to GTA V.
Obviously, take what’s said with a pinch of salt as their track record on previous leaks isn’t perfect, but they have been right about other leaks for games published by Take-Two Interactive such as WWE 2K.
A “Completely Different” Gameplay Experience
HipHopGamer claimed that “the gameplay in Grand Theft Auto VI is completely different from every other Grand Theft Auto” due to the “AI technology that surrounds the game”. It’s said to be more immersive than even Red Dead Redemption 2, with Rockstar introducing features and mechanics that have “never been seen” in an open-world game before.
As exciting as this sounds, it’s not very far-fetched. Rockstar Games has always pushed the boundaries of open-world games and ex-developers have explained in detail just how ahead of the curve the studio really is.
Intricate Vehicle Interactions
According to the leak, even the most iconic GTA mechanic — stealing cars — has been completely overhauled. The processes of stealing, entering, exiting, and driving vehicles will feel “significantly more intricate” than in previous entries. The game reportedly features detailed animations for smashing car windows, reaching for door handles, operating the gear shift, using handbrakes, and even adjusting to different seat heights. One filing even describes a system that continues a vehicle-entry animation if another car strikes the player mid-action.
These claims line up closely with patents filed by Take-Two Interactive in June, which describe advanced animation systems for vehicle interactions.
Jason and Lucia Working Together
HipHopGamer also highlighted that protagonists Jason and Lucia won’t just be characters you switch between. They will reportedly be able to “actively work together during missions in unique ways”, suggesting a deeper level of cooperative gameplay.
A Reactive World
The game’s world is also said to be “extremely reactive” , with events happening around the player reportedly creating new gameplay possibilities. Based on new AI citizen life simulation technology, random events will make the game world “unbelievably vivid”.
Built for Esports and Beyond
HipHopGamer claimed the game’s controls and responsiveness will be tight enough to appeal to competitive and esports players — an audience Grand Theft Auto has not previously targeted directly.
GTA 6 Will Go Beyond Video Games
However, what stands out the most from HipHopGamer’s claims is that GTA VI apparently “wasn’t just made for gamers” . He said there’s a film and TV component that hasn’t been made known yet. “Imagine launching a movie campaign inside of Grand Theft Auto VI”.
Sounds quite outlandish, but when you remember the biggest look at gameplay is scheduled for a Netflix broadcast, it becomes a little more realistic. Future user-generated content tools could allow creators to build large-scale story campaigns, including branded experiences and movie-like narratives capable of altering the game world.
DualSense Integration Comparable to Astro Bot
Finally, in regards to Rockstar and Sony’s claim that GTA VI “plays best on PlayStation 5”, HipHopGamer said the DualSense support will be comparable to that of Astro Bot. That actually sounds like the most realistic claim from the whole podcast, as Rockstar Games will surely want to push immersion as much as possible, and being able to feel rain through your PS5 controller is an easy way to do that.

Again, take everything mentioned above with a pinch of salt as while it sounds exciting on paper, the details weren’t all there. It does match up with other leaks that have materialised in the past, but we’ll have no way of knowing for sure until the Netflix preview, or the game’s launch.
The GTA VI Netflix preview goes live on August 27 for all subscribers, so if you don’t have an active membership yet, it’s probably time to get one. It will debut on Rockstar Games’ YouTube channel six hours after its Netflix broadcast though.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
