After several delays, Grand Theft Auto fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Pre-orders for GTA VI are due to open for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on Thursday 25 June.

“Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers,” Rockstar announced on X. The news comes just over four months before the game’s scheduled launch on November 19, 2026, and should calm fears that it may be delayed again.

Official Cover Art Revealed

Alongside the pre-order announcement, Rockstar also revealed the game’s official cover art. The cover follows the franchise’s signature pop-art style, with the game’s title surrounded by panels of artwork. It features protagonists Jason and Lucia alongside a yellow sports car, a speedboat with a flamingo, a motorbike, a helicopter equipped with a minigun, and other colourful characters. A new wide view of Vice City was also spotted on the official pre-order page, offering another glimpse at the scale and atmosphere Rockstar is building.

The cover art is also available as a downloadable artwork from the official Rockstar Games website.

Price and Editions Still a Mystery

For months, there has been rampant speculation over how much the game will cost, with some analysts suggesting a price as high as $100. However, Rockstar has not yet confirmed the pricing. No information about different editions or premium bundles has been disclosed either. It’s widely expected that GTA VI will have a deluxe and perhaps even a collector’s edition, but for now, we’ll have to wait until next week to find out.

No PC Version Yet

There’s still no word on a PC port, which is expected to follow the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S launch in the coming years.

Is a Third Trailer Coming?

Now that GTA VI has set a date for its pre-orders, it’s clear that the game isn’t going to be delayed again. But what fans will now be itching to know is whether pre-orders will be accompanied by the highly anticipated third trailer. It perhaps feels unlikely that a third trailer will drop on the same day. A third trailer and gameplay reveal might be held until July or August to maintain discussion and hype surrounding the game.

For now though, all we know for certain is that we need our wallets ready on 25 June.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
