Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem has already cemented itself as a 10/10 survival horror masterpiece, but the story may not be over. Following the free “Leon Must Die Forever” roguelite update, a new leak claims that the previously announced story DLC will do much more than add a few extra hours of gameplay – it may serve as a direct narrative bridge to Resident Evil 10.

What the Leak Reveals
According to prominent industry leaker Marcox, dataminers have uncovered new code in the Resident Evil Requiem servers suggesting that the upcoming story expansion will:
- Bridge the gap to Resident Evil 10, setting up plot threads and characters for the next mainline entry.
- Feature secret endings that could influence how the story transitions into RE10.
- Target a late 2026 release window, rather than 2027.
This aligns with Capcom’s previous confirmation that a story expansion was in development (announced back in March 2026). However, no official details have been shared – until now.
Why a Bridge Makes Sense
Resident Evil Requiem ended Grace Ashcroft’s campaign with several unresolved threads and a post‑credits scene that teased a larger conspiracy. A story DLC that directly connects to Resident Evil 10 would allow Capcom to maintain momentum between major releases, similar to how Resident Evil 7’s “Not a Hero” DLC set up Resident Evil 8.
The rumored secret endings are particularly intriguing. Could player choices in the DLC determine the starting point of RE10? That would be a first for the series.
When Could We See It?
With Sony’s State of Play scheduled for June 2, and Summer Game Fest following shortly after, many expect Capcom to reveal the DLC soon. However, the publisher often prefers its own showcases. Either way, an announcement could come within weeks – especially if the late 2026 release window is accurate.

A Note of Caution
As with all leaks, this information is unconfirmed. Datamined code can be misleading, and leakers are not always accurate. However, Marcox has a mixed but occasionally correct track record. Fans should treat this as a strong rumor until Capcom officially speaks.
Resident Evil Requiem is available now on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The story DLC has not been officially dated.
