GTA 6 Leak Reveals Game Isn’t Content Ready, Third Delay Likely
A new and concerning report has surfaced regarding the development of Grand Theft Auto VI, suggesting the game may not be ready for its scheduled November 2026 release. According to Bloomberg’s renowned industry journalist Jason Schreier, the title is not yet “content complete,” a critical milestone that casts serious doubt on Rockstar’s ability to meet the current launch window.

On a recent podcast, Schreier explained that “content complete” signifies the point where all missions, quests, characters, and major world elements are finalized and locked in. Only after reaching this stage can a game enter the final, lengthy period of polishing, bug-fixing, and optimization. His sources indicate that GTA VI has not yet reached this pivotal juncture.
While a November release leaves several months of development time, the absence of this milestone is a significant red flag. Schreier noted that, to his knowledge, no one at Rockstar is “fully confident” about the November 19 date. The preference for both Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, would be to delay the game again rather than release an unfinished product.
This situation draws a parallel to Red Dead Redemption 2, which also saw late-stage development work. However, the sheer scale and expectation surrounding GTA VI amplify the pressure. Schreier pointed out that Take-Two’s fiscal year extends through March 2027, providing a financial cushion for a delay into early 2027 while still meeting annual targets.

Further fueling delay speculation is the continued absence of two key marketing elements: raw, unedited gameplay footage and the opening of pre-orders. These are typically the hallmarks of a confident final marketing push. Until they materialize, the community’s faith in the November date is likely to remain shaky, leaving fans to brace for the possibility of one more long wait.
