NVIDIA Officially Launches DLSS 4.5 with 6x Frame Gen and New Transformer Model
NVIDIA has officially unveiled the next evolution of its AI-powered graphics technology: DLSS 4.5. Announced at CES 2026, the update delivers a two-pronged leap forward, combining a vastly improved image reconstruction model for all GeForce RTX users with revolutionary frame generation capabilities designed for the latest RTX 50 series hardware.

The cornerstone of the update is a new second-generation transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution. Trained on a larger dataset with significantly more computational power, this new AI model focuses on enhancing temporal stability, drastically reducing ghosting artifacts, and cleaning up edges and anti-aliasing. This improved Super Resolution is supported across the entire GeForce RTX lineup, with RTX 40 and 50 series cards receiving additional optimization via an FP8 processing path.
For performance, DLSS 4.5 introduces two groundbreaking features exclusive to the GeForce RTX 50 series: 6X Multi Frame Generation and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. The 6X mode can generate up to five AI frames for every single natively rendered frame, a monumental push designed to power high-refresh-rate gaming at 240Hz and beyond, especially in demanding scenarios like full path tracing.
The Dynamic mode intelligently scales the generation multiplier between 1X and 6X in real-time to lock gameplay to a user-selected frame rate target, ensuring buttery-smooth performance that perfectly matches a display’s refresh rate.
NVIDIA showcased the upgrades in titles like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, highlighting reduced ghosting, improved anti-aliasing, and less shimmering.

Availability is staggered. The new DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution model is accessible immediately through a beta update to the NVIDIA app, with a full rollout scheduled for January 13, 2026. The revolutionary 6X and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation features are slated to follow in Spring 2026, exclusively for GeForce RTX 50 series GPU owners.
