The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is celebrated for its deep RPG mechanics, morally complex quests, and unforgettable characters. But over a decade after its release, the modding community has taken the game in a direction CD Projekt Red never anticipated. The latest update to The Witcher Online mod has added a feature so bizarre it redefines the phrase “multiplayer mayhem.”

You Can Now Ride Other Players
The headline feature of the new update is simple: players can now “ride” each other as if they were horses. In the mod’s promotional trailer, Geralts can be seen cantering through Oxenfurt and Velen stacked in piggy‑back formations, or twisted together like a fleshy centipede serving as a makeshift Roach. The physics are as absurd as they sound.
The stacking mechanic isn’t limited to traversal either. The update also allows players to perform other actions in this conjoined state, including Geralt’s newly added ability to relieve himself into a trough—now doable in a stacked, synchronized fashion. Sword fighting has entered a very different dimension.
Other Quirky Additions
The update also introduces new signs that let Geralt transform into animals such as cows or foxes. While less “freaky” than the riding mechanic, these additions add to the mod’s growing repertoire of chaotic, sandbox multiplayer features.
Only on PC
Unsurprisingly, The Witcher Online mod remains exclusive to PC via Steam, requiring a non‑pirated copy of the latest version of The Witcher 3. Console players, meanwhile, will have to wait for The Witcher 4 to experience any kind of multiplayer—though it’s safe to assume CDPR’s official offering will be slightly more restrained.

A Sea of Geralts
The mod has been a source of viral amusement since its release, famously described as a “glorious sea of Geralts” where dozens of identical witchers roam the Continent together. This update only amplifies the chaos, giving players new ways to interact—and stack.
For those who have exhausted every quest and Gwent card, The Witcher Online offers a hilarious, unhinged reason to return to Velen. Just don’t expect to keep your dignity intact.
