“The Witcher: Blood Stone” Comic Series Coming 2026
Fans of The Witcher have something new to look forward to in 2026 beyond the highly anticipated next game. CD Projekt RED has partnered with Dark Horse Comics to launch “The Witcher: Blood Stone,” a four-issue comic miniseries that brings Geralt of Rivia back for a brand new adventure.

The story follows the legendary witcher as he investigates ancient dwarven mines that have attracted treasure hunters—all of whom claim to have encountered a vicious horned beast within. However, Geralt quickly discovers something more mysterious at play when he finds no evidence of an attack, leading him to uncover secrets that “are best left untouched.”
The creative team behind the project brings significant talent to the Witcher universe. The series is written by Daniel Freedman, known for the acclaimed dark fantasy comic “Birdking,” with art by Pius Bak, colors by Roman Titov, and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. In a statement to Polygon, Freedman expressed his excitement about the project, noting, “Geralt and I share a lot of the same sensibilities and getting to weave a blood-soaked tale about the true monster of man is always an opportunity I relish.”
CD Projekt RED’s Marcin Zwierzchowski praised the collaboration, calling the creative team “a dream team that crafted a wonderful story about greed and wounds that do not heal.”
The first issue of The Witcher: Blood Stone is scheduled for release on January 28, 2026, with subsequent issues to follow throughout the year. The series will feature multiple cover variants from artists including Gigi Cavenago, Axel Sauerwald, and Patrycja Podkościelny.
