STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has received yet another update as GSC Game World continues to improve the first-person survival horror game. Following a massive update earlier this week, the latest patch introduces key fixes and new features that fans will appreciate.
Recent Updates at a Glance
On December 19, GSC Game World rolled out patch 1.1, a major update with over 1,800 bug fixes, changes, and quality-of-life improvements. This included:
- Adjustments to NPC spawns.
- AI improvements.
- Optimization and balance tweaks.
Shortly after, the developers released patch 1.1.1 to address issues causing crashes when players tried to start the game after the initial update.
Now, with patch 1.1.2, the studio has fixed additional issues reported by the community and introduced a save back-up feature.
What’s New in Patch 1.1.2?
According to the official patch notes, the latest update focuses on addressing recent problems:
- Shader compilation issue fixed: Some players were experiencing infinite wait times or crashes.
- Save file loading fixed: Crashes related to loading save files have been resolved.
- Exit crash fixed: Players who experienced crashes when exiting the game should no longer face this issue.
- Save back-up feature added: PC players can now enjoy automatic save backups, which will last for four days before being deleted.

Currently, this save back-up functionality is exclusive to PC users, with no announcement yet about its availability for Xbox Series X/S.
