A New Contender in the Integrated Graphics Race
The performance of integrated graphics is leaping forward with each new generation, and Intel’s next move appears to be a massive one. Leaked benchmark results for the upcoming “Panther Lake” processors reveal performance figures for the new Arc B390 iGPU that, if accurate, would fundamentally change the landscape for thin-and-light laptops and handheld gaming PCs.

The data, shared by known leaker Raichu, shows the Intel Arc B390—the top integrated graphics option for Panther Lake—achieving remarkable scores in synthetic benchmarks. This new iGPU is based on Intel’s Xe3 architecture, the same technology that will power its future discrete graphics cards, and the early results suggest it delivers on Intel’s promise of a major generational leap.
By the Numbers: A Potential Game-Changer
The leaked scores place the Arc B390 in a performance tier that was previously reserved for entry-level discrete graphics cards. In the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark, the B390 reportedly scored around 7,000 points in the graphics test.
To put that in perspective, this score is approximately:
- Twice as high as AMD’s current best-in-class Radeon 890M iGPU found in the Ryzen AI 300 series.
- Nearly twice as high as Intel’s own current top iGPU, the Arc 140T in Lunar Lake processors.
In another benchmark, Steel Nomad Light, the B390 is said to score over 6,000 points, which is more than 80% higher than its competitors. This level of performance indicates that future laptops without a separate graphics card could comfortably handle 1080p gaming and offer a significantly better experience in creative applications.
Important Context and The Road Ahead
While these numbers are exciting, it’s crucial to view them with appropriate caution. The leaker has not revealed the power settings of the test system. It’s possible the chip was running at a high wattage that may not be typical for all laptops, which could inflate the performance figures.
However, even with this caveat, the results strongly suggest that Intel’s claim of the Xe3 architecture being over 50% faster than its predecessor is not only accurate but may even be conservative. This performance uplift makes Intel’s technology a very compelling option for device manufacturers, especially for the fast-growing handheld gaming PC market, where efficient, powerful integrated graphics are the most critical component.
