The rumor began when keen-eyed fans discovered that searching for Horizon Zero Dawn on Google would return a result linking directly to the German Xbox store. This sparked immediate speculation that Guerrilla Games’ masterpiece might be following other former exclusives in making the jump to Microsoft’s platform.
However, the hope was short-lived. As explained by knowledgeable users on Reddit and gaming forums, this phenomenon is not evidence of a secret port. Instead, it’s a known indexing issue specific to the German version of the Microsoft Store. For reasons that remain unclear, Google’s search crawler is indexing search queries from the German Xbox store. This means that virtually any game—including PlayStation exclusives like The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima—can appear as an “Xbox store” result in Germany, even if they aren’t actually available there.
This isn’t the first time this glitch has fueled false hope. In the past, similar search results have led to unfounded rumors about other major PlayStation titles coming to Xbox. The pattern is consistent: the link leads to a generic store page or search result, not a legitimate product listing for purchase.
While this particular incident is a disappointment for Xbox players, the broader trend in the industry is moving toward greater accessibility.
