GTA 6 ‘Top Secret’ Feature Reportedly Leaked by Ex-Rockstar Employees
The ongoing legal dispute between Rockstar Games and a group of dismissed employees has unexpectedly shed light on a potential detail for Grand Theft Auto VI‘s multiplayer component. According to a new report, part of the “confidential information” cited in the firings was the reveal of a planned—and supposedly top-secret—increase to multiplayer lobby sizes.

The context stems from the October 2025 termination of 31 staff, which Rockstar attributed to “gross misconduct” and sharing confidential information. The employees and their union, the IWGB, allege the firings were retaliation for unionization efforts. Independent documentary outlet People Make Games traveled to Edinburgh to speak with the affected workers, uncovering new specifics about the case.
Within their report, it’s revealed that two of the dismissed employees were accused of leaking an unannounced GTA VI feature in a union Discord channel: the planned capacity for multiplayer sessions. The detail in question is a shift from the traditional 30-player lobbies in GTA Online to 32-player sessions in the next iteration.
While a minor numerical increase, this insight suggests Rockstar is prioritizing stable, incremental improvements over a drastic leap that could compromise performance in the highly detailed world of Vice City. The current GTA Online technically supports 32 users but reserves two slots for spectators.
The report has sparked discussion among fans. Some speculate that the larger map of GTA VI could eventually support even bigger lobbies, perhaps on future hardware. Others, like one commenter, joked about the strain, noting, “The PS5 will become the PS4, like an aeroplane turbine.”
