GTA 6 PC Delay
For PC gamers, the wait for GTA 6 just got a lot more complicated—and potentially a lot more expensive. With Rockstar Games yet to announce a PC version of its blockbuster sequel, and the console launch locked in for November 19, 2026, a growing number of players are deciding they simply cannot wait a year or more to experience Vice City.

The solution? Bite the bullet and buy a console.
Across Reddit and social media, PC-first gamers are openly discussing plans to purchase PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S consoles specifically—and sometimes exclusively—to play GTA VI on launch day. “Got a PS5 just for GTA VI, so I can play day one,” admitted one fan in a popular thread. Another echoed the sentiment: “I’m probably going to end up buying a PS5 before the game releases.” Many are planning to double-dip, buying the game on console now and again on PC when the enhanced port eventually arrives.
This is a testament to the immense pull of Rockstar’s franchise. Historically, the studio has prioritized console launches, with PC versions arriving much later. GTA V took nearly two years to reach PC. Red Dead Redemption infamously took 13 years. While most expect a shorter gap this time—perhaps a year—even that feels like an eternity for the most anticipated game of the decade.
The financial commitment is significant. A new console plus a copy of the game represents an investment of $500 or more solely to play one title. Yet, for many, the cost is justified by the fear of spoilers, the desire to participate in the global cultural moment, and simply the refusal to wait any longer after nearly a decade since GTA V.

It’s a workaround born of frustration, but also of passion. For PC gamers accustomed to superior graphics and modding freedom, buying a console feels like a compromise. But for GTA VI, it’s a compromise thousands are willing to make.
