Ghost of Yotei Receives Free Update
Just weeks after its successful launch, Ghost of Yotei has received its first major update, addressing several technical issues that players have encountered in the critically acclaimed sequel. The free update, labeled version 1.010, is now available for all PlayStation 5 owners and focuses on improving stability and fixing various bugs that have impacted the gameplay experience.
While developer Sucker Punch Productions has not yet released official patch notes, player reports and community tracking have identified several key issues that the update aims to resolve. Among the most significant fixes are solutions for progression-blocking bugs that prevented players from advancing through certain quests and activities.
One of the most critical issues addressed was an endless respawn loop that occurred when players died in specific locations, particularly when falling into spike pits with their horse. This game-breaking bug left players trapped in an unavoidable death cycle, essentially halting their progress entirely until the update provided a fix.
The patch also addresses problems with mission progression, including “The Last Brother” bounty hunt where players couldn’t interact with essential characters or spawn required enemies. Another notable fix targets the “Kusarigama’s Regret” mission, which was causing controller functionality issues that made the game difficult to play.
Additional improvements include corrections to cosmetic and collection systems. Players reported issues with the Wolf Blade not properly changing appearance with different sword kits, shrines showing as incomplete despite being finished, and the final Epic Box not spawning in the world. The update also resolves problems with the oxygen meter incorrectly displaying when entering water and fixes controller issues that occurred when moving through specific regions like the Yotei Grassland.
