With Genshin Impact Version 6.5 now live, the community’s attention has turned to the upcoming 6.6 beta. Thanks to early datamining, players have a full overview of Nicole’s ability kit—a 5-Star Pyro Catalyst designed to elevate Hexerei hypercarries like Varka to new heights.
A Shield That Buffs
Nicole’s Elemental Skill: Unmanifest Light creates a Pyro Shield that scales with her ATK. While the shield is active, the on‑field character receives an ATK bonus. For non‑Hexerei characters, the ATK buff activates after three seconds on the field. But for Hexerei teammates, the buff triggers instantly—making Nicole the ideal sustain for Varka, Venti, and other Hexerei members.
Coordinated Attacks Like Shenhe’s Quills
Nicole’s Elemental Burst: Pilgrimage of the Heavenly Path deals AoE Pyro damage and summons Mystical Projections. These projections perform coordinated attacks that scale with the active character’s ATK and match the active character’s elemental type—not Nicole’s Pyro. This flexibility allows her to slot into teams of any element.
When paired with another Hexerei character, the Mystical Projections deal an additional 150% of the triggering character’s ATK as elemental damage. This restriction is only lifted at C6, making Nicole’s early constellations heavily focused on Hexerei synergy.
A Passive Treasure Compass
Nicole’s utility passive, Quiet Contemplation, turns her Charged Attack into a Seelie that guides players to the nearest treasure chest. The passive only works in regions where the player has crafted the corresponding Treasure Compass. (Dragonspine remains excluded, as always.)

Comparisons and Concerns
Early theorycrafting compares Nicole to a 5‑Star Bennett—but one who shields instead of heals. However, her particle generation may be a concern. Both her signature weapon and the new Hexerei Artifact Set suggest she has a high‑cost Burst, meaning Energy Recharge will be a priority.
Notably, Nicole’s delayed ATK buff for non‑Hexerei characters makes her incompatible with Mavuika teams. Varka and Venti, however, will favor her over Bennett as the sustain option.
