Assassins Creed Shadows’ Latest Update
The most charismatic assassin in video game history is making a grand return. Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the beloved protagonist of Assassins Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations, is back in a new update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, bringing a touch of Italian Renaissance flair to feudal Japan.
Update 1.1.1, available now, introduces a suite of new content, but the headline feature is undoubtedly the homage to Ezio. Accessed through new “Project” quests in the Animus HUB, players can unlock a treasure trove of nostalgic items, including:
- The iconic ‘Renaissance Robe and Hood’ from Assassin’s Creed II.
- A ‘Rooftop Cat’ for your hideout, dressed in full ACII attire.
- A new charm and an ‘Eagle Head’ cosmetic for the Kusarigama weapon.

This update is more than just a cosmetic celebration. It significantly expands the gameplay experience with a new story quest that teams players up with the popular NPC Junjiro to learn from a “legendary Bo Master,” unlocking new combat skills. Other highly requested features include the ability to skip time via meditation, an increased XP level cap, new hideout upgrades, and enhanced gear systems.
Weighing between 13GB and 42GB depending on the platform, this update also lays the groundwork for the game’s first major expansion, Claws of Awaji, which is set to launch on September 16.
