Assassins Creed’s Ezio Makes a Surprise Cameo
In one of the most unexpected crossovers in recent gaming, the legendary Assassin’s Creed hero Ezio Auditore has made a surprise appearance—not in his own series, but as an outfit for a superhero in the popular team-based shooter, Marvel Rivals.

The cameo arrives as part of the game’s fifth season, which introduces the X-Men couple Gambit and Rogue to the roster. Gambit, the charming mutant who charges objects with kinetic energy, has received a new cosmetic skin titled “Thieves Guildmaster.” The outfit is an unmistakable homage to Ezio, featuring the iconic white-and-red robes, hood, and leather bracers of the Renaissance Assassin.
The developers at NetEase lean into the reference with a playful in-game description that reads, “Bravo, Remy! You still fight like an assassin more than a thief. Which are you?” This fun nod acknowledges the skin’s direct inspiration from Ubisoft’s flagship franchise.
