MSI Unveils 40th Anniversary RTX 5080 with a Modest Factory Overclock
MSI has published the specifications for its GeForce RTX 5080 SUPRIM DRACO EPIC EDITION, a special model released to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary. The card arrives with a higher factory overclock than MSI’s existing RTX 5080 SUPRIM models, along with a distinctive blue design.
The DRACO EPIC EDITION runs at a 2,760 MHz boost clock in Gaming and Silent modes. Through MSI Center’s Extreme Performance profile, this can be increased to 2,775 MHz. By comparison, the standard RTX 5080 SUPRIM OC and SUPRIM LIQUID OC are both rated at 2,700 MHz boost and 2,715 MHz via MSI Center.
This gives the DRACO a 60 MHz, or roughly 2.2%, clock increase over both standard SUPRIM configurations. MSI has not increased the listed board power to achieve this—the card remains a 360W model with one 16-pin power connector and an 850W recommended power supply.
Same Core Specs, Enhanced Cooling and Design
The underlying GPU configuration is unchanged from other RTX 5080 models. The card features 10,752 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit interface running at 30 Gbps.
MSI has differentiated the DRACO EPIC EDITION through its cooling, design, and a higher factory GPU clock rather than memory or power changes. The card uses MSI’s HYPER FROZR cooling design with STORMFORCE fans, a vapor chamber, and optimized core pipes. It measures 359 x 150 x 76 mm—the same dimensions as the air-cooled SUPRIM OC.
The anniversary model also receives a blue 40th anniversary design, an etched metal backplate, and a matching GPU support stand. MSI has not yet confirmed the card’s weight or announced pricing and availability.

A Special Edition for Collectors
MSI announced the DRACO EPIC EDITION hardware lineup earlier this week as part of its 40th anniversary products. While the 60 MHz clock bump is modest, the card’s limited-edition status, unique design, and premium cooling make it a collector’s item for MSI enthusiasts.
For those seeking raw performance gains, the standard SUPRIM OC offers nearly identical specifications at what will likely be a lower price. But for collectors and MSI loyalists, the DRACO EPIC EDITION represents a piece of the company’s history.
