We’ve all been saying it for months, but it feels more likely than ever that the highly anticipated third trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI could drop any day now — that’s at least according to an industry insider.
The wait for the third trailer for Rockstar Games’ next entry in its Grand Theft Auto series has been an agonising one for fans. We got our first trailer for GTA VI in December 2023 and the second in May 2025.
We’re just a few months away from the launch of GTA VI, and the fact that Rockstar Games hasn’t dropped Trailer 3 already has some fans concerned. But according to industry insider NateTheHate, that wait could come to an end in August.
GTA 6 Trailer 3 Could Be Just Days Away
When a follower on X asked NateTheHate2 if GTA VI has been delayed (it hasn’t), another follower asked, “When do you think we’ll see gameplay for GTA 6?”, to which NateTheHate2 replied: “I expect to see a fair bit of GTA VI next month.”
The insider later clarified that he meant August, adding that fans should expect “a fair bit” of new information — which could suggest more than one piece of content, possibly a gameplay video, a pre-order teaser, or Trailer 3 itself. While he stopped short of revealing exactly what Rockstar plans to show, the comment has already fuelled widespread speculation.
NateTheHate also reiterated that GTA 6 remains on track for its November 19 release date.
The Take-Two Earnings Call Connection
The timing of this rumour is significant. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, has its next quarterly earnings call scheduled for August 7.
Industry insiders have noted that the call has been moved to an unusual 8 AM EST start time, leading many to believe that Rockstar may be planning a major announcement to coincide with or precede the event. Historically, Rockstar has dropped trailers around two weeks before investor calls to generate positive market momentum.
Other Insiders Weigh In
NateTheHate isn’t the only industry figure pointing to an August reveal. Tom Henderson, Editor-in-Chief of Insider Gaming, has predicted that Trailer 3 will drop on August 6 — the day before Take-Two’s earnings call. Henderson has been upfront that this is a prediction rather than confirmed information, but his track record adds weight to the speculation.
What to Expect from Trailer 3
With the game now just four months away, fans are expecting Trailer 3 to be the first extended look at gameplay, potentially showcasing:
- Driving and combat mechanics
- Open-world exploration in Vice City and the state of Leonida
- Character interactions between Jason and Lucia
- New gameplay features and mechanics
A Word of Caution
It’s worth stressing that NateTheHate doesn’t mention where this information comes from; for all we could know, it could simply be an educated guess. Furthermore, Trailer 3 isn’t mentioned explicitly either — but with all the talk of Rockstar Games aiming for a big marketing push for GTA VI this summer, August 2026 feels as good a time as any.
That being said, NateTheHate is well-connected in the industry, so that’s worth considering too. We’ll just have to wait and see what unfolds in the coming days and weeks.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. At the time of writing, the PC port hasn’t been officially announced, but we’re sure that announcement will drop at some point.
