AMD’s 9950X3D2 Gets Official UK Pricing: £799, Launching Next Week
UK buyers eyeing AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition now have a firm price. According to a post by Overclockers UK forum staff member Gibbo, the chip will carry a UK SEP of £799, with orders opening at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 22. Shipping is planned the same day for Thursday delivery.

The final figure is lower than the retailer’s earlier estimate. On April 9, Gibbo had noted that AMD had not yet communicated a UK MSRP, and OcUK had set its own price at £829 while expecting the final UK figure to land between £819 and £839. The new £799 SEP brings the chip £30 below that initial estimate and places it below the range the store had publicly anticipated.
What You Get for £799
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is AMD’s first desktop processor with 3D V-Cache on both chiplets. Official specifications include:
- 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads
- Up to 5.6 GHz boost clock
- 192 MB L3 cache (208 MB total with L2)
- 200W TDP
- AM5 socket compatibility
AMD has positioned the chip for content creation and workstation workloads, claiming 5% to 13% performance gains over the standard Ryzen 9 9950X3D in professional applications. The standard 9950X3D launched at $699 / £699, making the new Dual Edition roughly a £100 premium for the additional cache on the second chiplet.
US Pricing Context
The official US MSRP for the 9950X3D2 is $899. At current exchange rates, £799 is roughly $1,050 including UK VAT (20%), which is broadly in line with the US price after tax. Early Amazon US pre-orders had shown a $999 listing, but that appears to have been a retailer placeholder rather than final pricing.

Availability
Overclockers UK will open orders at 2 PM on April 22, with the processor expected to ship the same day for arrival on Thursday, April 23. Other UK retailers are expected to follow with similar pricing, though OcUK’s confirmation gives buyers a clear reference point.
For UK enthusiasts who have been waiting for AMD’s dual-cache flagship, the pricing uncertainty is finally over—and the final number is slightly better than expected.
