The wait for the next GTA 6 trailer may finally have an end date. After months of speculation, industry insider Tom Henderson has doubled down on his prediction that Trailer 3 will arrive in early August 2026, marking the true beginning of the game’s final marketing push.

Timing Is Everything
Speaking on the latest episode of the Insider Gaming Weekly podcast, Henderson explained his rationale: “I’m still sticking to my guns from what we said a few weeks ago, which is that I don’t think they’re going to release the trailer, the next trailer, until actual summer”.
Henderson also noted that the release would likely follow the pattern Rockstar has established throughout GTA VI’s marketing campaign. Major news drops—including previous trailers—have consistently landed within days of Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings calls. The next call is expected in early August, making it the perfect launchpad for a major announcement.
Pre-Orders and Digital Listings
Crucially, the arrival of Trailer 3 is expected to trigger the opening of digital pre-orders. While physical pre-orders have been available at select retailers for months, the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace have remained conspicuously silent. A new trailer would almost certainly be accompanied by store page updates, pricing confirmation, and the ability to reserve a digital copy.
Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, recently indicated that the standard edition of GTA VI would fall in the $70–$80 range, putting an end to months of speculation about a $100 price tag.
What to Expect From Trailer 3
The first two trailers were largely cinematic, introducing protagonists Jason and Lucia and establishing the Vice City tone. Trailer 3 is widely expected to be a gameplay showcase, offering the first extended look at combat, traversal, and the living world Rockstar has been crafting for over a decade.
Fans may also get their first official glimpse of the next iteration of GTA Online, though Henderson noted that a dedicated Online trailer could follow separately.

The Road to November
With the November 19 release date locked in, an August trailer would fall roughly three months ahead of launch—a classic marketing cadence for a blockbuster title. It would also allow Rockstar to dominate the back half of the year’s gaming conversation, leading directly into the holiday season.
For now, the countdown begins. Whether it’s early August or a few weeks later, one thing is clear: the silence is about to break.
