New Palworld DLC is Yours for Free, Christmas Break Sorted
Palworld, the breakout creature-collecting survival hit of 2024, has launched its next major free update just in time for the holiday season. Titled “Home Sweet Home,” version 0.7 delivers a substantial package of new content focused on base customization, combat enhancements, and a surprising collaboration, ensuring players have plenty to do over the Christmas break.
This update marks a significant moment for the game, which faced intense scrutiny and legal challenges from Nintendo following its Pokémon-inspired launch last year. Having not only survived but thrived, developer Pocketpair is celebrating with a gift to its community, framing this update as essential groundwork for the game’s eventual 1.0 release.
The core of the “Home Sweet Home” update is a comprehensive overhaul of the building system. Players now have access to 48 new building parts, including long-requested triangular pieces, granting unprecedented freedom and precision in designing their bases. A new painting system allows for full color customization of walls, foundations, and other structures, finally letting players add a personal splash of color to their Palpagos Islands settlements.
In a wildly unexpected crossover, Palworld has teamed up with the frenetic first-person shooter ULTRAKILL. This collaboration injects a dose of high-octane mayhem into the creature-catching world by adding the iconic V1 and V2 armor sets, allowing players to terrorize the islands as the blood-fueled robots. It also introduces powerful new weapons and the unique “Coin Toss” mechanic straight from ULTRAKILL, promising to make Palworld combat faster and deadlier.
Beyond the headline features, the update includes melee combat improvements, the introduction of a new raid boss, experimental PvP modes, and Steam Workshop support, laying a foundation for robust community content creation.
