Assassins Creed Shadows Patched, Ubisoft Fixes in Full Plus Download Size
Ubisoft has released a substantial new update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, enhancing the action-RPG with fresh content, combat improvements, and a host of bug fixes. Title Update 1.1.7 is now live for most platforms, delivering a meaningful expansion to the game’s already rich samurai and shinobi experience.

The update, which launched on December 16, is a significant download, coming in at approximately 16.64 GB on Xbox Series X/S. Players on Nintendo Switch 2 will receive the patch a day later, on December 17. This size reflects the breadth of additions and refinements included.
A major highlight of the patch is the introduction of new, brutal finisher moves for both protagonists. Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke now have more flair and variety in their combat conclusions, allowing players to end fights with greater cinematic style. This adds a fresh layer of visual feedback to the game’s engaging battle system.
Beyond combat, a new Animus Rift has appeared. This challenge tasks players with uncovering secrets, solving environmental puzzles, and navigating digital landscapes to assist “The Guide.” It provides a distinct, focused gameplay experience separate from the main campaign.
The update also adds a free new Project titled “Defiance” via the Animus Hub. Completing this challenge rewards players with a new Bo staff weapon, a matching robe and hood outfit, and a unique trinket. Furthermore, Vault access is now conveniently available through the Animus menu, and the Exchange has been updated to allow repeated purchases of Gold, Mastery, and Knowledge points using keys.
On the technical side, Ubisoft has addressed a wide array of issues. The patch notes detail numerous fixes across UI, visuals, graphics, general gameplay, and the online store. These adjustments aim to create a smoother, more polished experience for all players.
