Battlefield 6 Update Patches
A new update for Battlefield 6 is set to squash one of the game’s most infamous and amusing glitches: the ability to ride on top of a reconnaissance drone. While a fan-favorite for its sheer absurdity, the exploit gave players an unfair tactical advantage and is now being removed.

The patch, version 1.1.1.5, addresses a wide range of player-reported issues. The most notable fix targets the viral drone glitch, which involved players using a sledgehammer to “bop” a friendly drone, allowing them to stand on it and be flown to otherwise unreachable vantage points. This technique, while hilarious, was particularly disruptive in the hands of snipers who could dominate matches from unexpected perches.
Beyond the drone exploit, the update tackles several critical gameplay problems that have persisted since the game’s beta. Significant fixes have been made to “weapon bloom,” a mechanic affecting bullet spread. The patch corrects an issue where the accuracy penalty for sprinting lasted too long after aiming down sights, making gunfights feel more consistent and responsive.
Vehicle combat is also receiving a crucial adjustment. The patch resolves a problem where Infantry Fighting Vehicle Lock-Guided Missiles would ignore enemy countermeasures like flares, a balance issue that had previously forced developers to temporarily disable the weapon entirely.
