GTA 6 Secret Third Playable Character
The hunt for clues about Grand Theft Auto VI has taken a dramatic turn. Following the release of the second trailer, dedicated fans analyzing promotional images on Rockstar’s website have landed on a compelling theory: the game may feature a secret third playable character who could play a pivotal role in the story’s conclusion.

The theory centers on a character named Raul Bautista, one of several supporting figures highlighted in the official screenshots. While most images focus on the confirmed protagonists, Jason and Lucia, or show other characters interacting with them, the pictures of Bautista have stood out to the community for specific reasons.
Fans on platforms like Reddit point to two key pieces of visual evidence. First, they note that Bautista is the only character whose main promotional image is positioned on the left side of the screen, unlike all others which appear on the right. Second, and more importantly, one screenshot shows Bautista alone, driving a car in a shot that looks less like a cinematic cutscene and more like raw gameplay.
This has led to intense speculation. One popular theory suggests that Bautista, who has a distinctly villainous appearance, could be the one to kill either Jason or Lucia in a branching narrative, with the player then taking control of him for an epilogue sequence. This would mirror the structure of Red Dead Redemption 2, where players unexpectedly took on a new role after the main story’s events.
User ContributionSquare22 elaborated on the idea, stating, “Calling it, there’s multiple endings and if you choose Lucia or Jason death ending, you’ll get him as a stand-in and an epilogue set of missions.”
However, it’s crucial to treat this as an intriguing fan theory rather than confirmed fact. Other characters like Cal Hampton and Dre’Quan Priest also have solo shots, which could simply be from cutscenes. Rockstar is known for its deep storytelling and complex characters, and Bautista may well be a major antagonist without being playable.
